Helen "Christine" Smith

   Helen “Christine” Smith, age 73, of Rutherfordton, NC passed away Friday, December 15, 2023, at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, in Forest City, NC.

     Christine was born on Saturday, July 1, 1950in Cleveland County, NC, to Glenn William Russ and Ada Florine Webb Russ. Christine enjoyed watching NASCAR racing, football, and her soaps. She also enjoyed driving a transfer truck and spending time with her friends and family. She was a member Bostic Baptist Church. She will be missed by all that knew her.

     She was preceded in death by her father Glenn Williams Russ, her mother Ada Florine Webb Russ, two brothers, William Thomas Russ (Bill) and Jerry Wayne Russ (J.R.).

     Those left to cherish her memory include her brothers, Mickey Russ (Helen), Donnie Russ (Brenda); her daughter, Barbara Murray (Wayne), son, Bo Gordon (Tina), daughter, Dana Gordon, daughter, Jessi Epley; grandchildren, Brandon Murray(Katherine), Megan Harshman (Matt), Tyler Murray (Katelyn), Dylan Gordon, MaKayla Gordon, (Sabrina), Malachi Gordon (Chloe), Corrinna Epley, Mordachi Gordon, Natalie Gordon, MaKenzlie Murray, Tucker Murray, Cadence Epley, Carrigan Epley, Madison Gordon, Keeliana Murray, Jackson Epley, Gracie Gordon, and thirteen great grandchildren.

     There will be a memorial service at a later date.
