Fred Blair Fischbach

     Fred B. Fischbach, 70, of Shelby, NC passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday the 9th day of January 2024 at his home.

     Fred Blair Fischbach was born to Janet Fischbach and the late Fred Fischbach on November 26, 1953 in New Jersey. He attended North Bergen High School where he played the accordion. Fred served in the US Army at Fort Bragg, NC, and in Germany; and US Army Reserves in Statesville, NC. After his time in service, he worked in manufacturing. He enjoyed working with arts and crafts making jewelry and chainmail. He loved the outdoors, including the beach and going fishing. He also liked meeting new people, attending COSPLAY events, and especially attending the Carolina Renaissance Festival.

     Including his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents, and a brother Mark Fischbach.

     In addition to his mother, Fred is survived by his wife Wanda Fischbach of Shelby; a daughter Michelle Fischbach Reed of Kanab, Utah; a son, David Eric Fischbach of Ladson, SC; a daughter, Stacie Nicole Fischbach Dopirak of Huntersville, NC; sisters, Carla Fischbach Germinario of Lakewood, New Jersey, and Lisa Fischbach Pezzi of Ocala, Florida; a stepson, Sajid Kahn of Mint Hill, NC; and two stepdaughters, Mariam Kahn Lackey of Clemmons, NC, and Yasmeen Kahn Riley of Kannapolis, NC; grandchildren Kaylyn Reed, Austin Reed; and Silas Fischbach, along with a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.

     There will be a graveside service for the family at a later time.  The remains will be interred into rest at Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC.

     In lieu of flowers, the family will accept donations to the American Heart Association.
