Ryan Date

      Eric “Ryan” Date, age 30, of Forest City, passed away Thursday, June1, 2023.

      Ryan was born Monday, October 12, 1992, in Buncombe County to Kelly Garcia who resides in Forest City, and Eric Date who resides in Bostic. He loved football and was an avid Minnesota, Vikings fan. Ryan loved his children and his family. He was a good person who had a humble heart.

     He was preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Kelly Date Sisk, also by maternal grandparents Clyde and Edith Davis.

     Those left to cherish fond memories include his partner, Micah Brooks; two children, Blace Date and Brilee Date; his mother, Kelly Garcia; father Eric Date (Michelle Sommerfeldt); grandfather, Robert Sisk; brothers, Corey Date (Casey), Seth Davis; sisters, Amber Sommerfeldt and Emily Sommerfeldt; also, by a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, and a niece.

     A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 4:00 pm on Monday, June 5, 2023, at the Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church with Reverend Sammy Crain and Reverend Chad Sisk officiating. The family will receive friends thirty minutes before the time of the service.
